BC-AME Low-Alkali Concrete Expansive Agent

Brief Introduction

BC-AME low-alkali concrete expansive agent integrates high-efficiency shrinkage reduction, crack resistance and impermeability. It can effectively compensate for autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage and temperature shrinkage of cement-based materials in different service environments. It is suitable for preparing micro-expansive concrete, prestressed concrete, and other repair or filling grouting projects requiring shrinkage compensation.

Product Features

· High Expansion Efficiency and Stable Expansion Products: Tested in accordance with GB/T 23439-2017 Concrete Expansive Agents, the 7-day restrained expansion rate of cement mortar can reach more than 3.5×10⁻⁴.

· Excellent Crack and Impermeability Resistance: The expansion effect of BC-AME can not only effectively compensate for autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage of concrete, but also has a good inhibitory effect on drying shrinkage cracking. The results of the ring cracking test show that the cracking time of mortar specimens mixed with 8% BC-AME is significantly prolonged and the crack width is greatly reduced compared with the reference specimens. Concrete mixed with 8% BC-AME can reach an impermeability grade of P10 or higher.

· Low Water Demand and Good Constructability: BC-AME has low water demand. When used in conjunction with water reducers, it can effectively improve the fluidity of concrete without increasing water consumption.

· Superior Durability: BC-AME not only has low alkali content, but also can optimize the pore structure of concrete and improve the formation environment of hydration products after being incorporated into concrete. It comprehensively enhances the frost resistance, impermeability and carbonation resistance of concrete, providing fundamental guarantee for the durability of high-performance concrete.

Usage Method and Precautions

· Recommended Dosage: The common dosage is 6%~10% of the total mass of cementitious materials (internal mixing). If there are special requirements for expansion performance, the dosage can be increased to 10%~12%. The optimal dosage shall be determined by on-site tests based on raw material conditions, ambient temperature and construction requirements.

· Concrete Mixing: It shall be added into the mixer together with cement, sand and aggregates, and shall not be pre-dissolved in water. The mixing time shall be appropriately extended until uniform mixing is achieved (generally about 30 seconds longer for forced mixers, and about 45 seconds longer for double-cone or gravity mixers).

· Troweling: Repeatedly trowel and press the concrete surface after initial setting and before final setting to prevent surface settlement shrinkage cracks.

· Concrete Curing: BC-AME can effectively inhibit autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage and temperature shrinkage of high-performance concrete. After concrete pouring is completed, it shall be covered and cured in a timely manner.

Packaging and Storage

· Packaging: BC-AME is available in paper-plastic composite bags or bulk tankers for convenient loading, unloading and transportation. The net weight is 40kg per bag, and custom packaging is also available according to customer requirements.

· Storage: BC-AME shall be stored in a sealed, dry and cool place, with a shelf life of 6 months under sealed conditions.

Safety Precautions

· BC-AME is non-toxic, non-irritating, non-radioactive, non-flammable and non-explosive. It contains no formaldehyde and is environmentally friendly.

· For your personal safety, always wear protective gloves and safety goggles during handling and use of BC-AME to avoid direct skin contact. In case of accidental eye or skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. Seek medical attention promptly if irritation persists.
