BC-AME(III) Fiber Reinforced Expansive Agent

Brief Introduction

BC-AME(III) fiber reinforced expansive agent combines the advantages of both expansion and fiber crack resistance, and also exhibits an excellent superposition effect of high crack resistance and high impermeability. It can significantly improve the impermeability and crack resistance of concrete, enhance its ability to resist erosion by surrounding environmental media and durability, and achieve the goal of self-waterproofing of concrete structures. It is applicable to civil construction projects, concrete pavements, airport runways, water conservancy and hydropower projects, as well as infrastructure projects with impermeability and crack resistance requirements.

Product Features

· Multi-functional Protection: BC-AME(III) improves the crack resistance of concrete from both physical and chemical aspects, providing dual protection for concrete. On one hand, polypropylene fibers exert the effects of micro-reinforcement and mesh support, inhibiting the cracking process of concrete. On the other hand, the expansive components react chemically with cement hydration products to produce moderate expansion, preventing concrete shrinkage cracking.

· Phased and Hierarchical Crack Resistance: Polypropylene fibers mainly function during the plastic stage of concrete, while expansive components mainly act during the hardening process of concrete. This achieves full-process phased crack resistance, making the most effective contribution to concrete at different stages, in different ways and from different levels.

· High Expansion Efficiency: Concrete mixed with BC-AME(III) fiber reinforced expansive agent has stable hydration products. It produces micro-expansion at the initial stage of hydration, with a restrained expansion rate of ≥1.5×10⁻⁴ in water at 14 days. It maintains a slow expansion trend as hydration proceeds, with stable expansion in the later stage, almost no shrinkage at 28 days, and a shrinkage rate of only 1.2×10⁻⁴ at 42 days.

· Superior Durability: BC-AME(III) has low alkali content and chloride ion content, with excellent ability to prevent alkali-aggregate reaction (AAR) and inhibit steel bar corrosion. Polypropylene fibers have high alkali resistance, avoiding the defects of alkali intolerance such as glass fibers and polyester fibers. The huge number of polypropylene fibers per unit volume has an obvious crack resistance effect. The characteristic that the elastic modulus of polypropylene fibers increases with decreasing temperature has a positive enhancement effect on the resistance of fiber-reinforced concrete to frost heave damage in low-temperature environments.

Usage Method and Precautions

· Dosage: The common dosage is 6%~10% of the total mass of cementitious materials, and can be increased to 10%~12% if higher expansion is required.

· Mixing: It shall be added into the mixer together with cement, sand and aggregates, and shall not be pre-dissolved in water. The mixing time shall be appropriately extended until uniform mixing is achieved (generally about 30 seconds longer for forced mixers, and about 45 seconds longer for double-cone or gravity mixers).

· Troweling: Special personnel shall be arranged to repeatedly trowel and press the concrete surface after initial setting and before final setting to prevent surface settlement shrinkage cracks.

· Curing: After the pouring of self-waterproofing concrete is completed, it shall be covered with wet straw mats in a timely manner and shall not be exposed to direct sunlight. The water retention curing time of concrete shall not be less than 7 days, otherwise the crack resistance and impermeability effect will be reduced. The formwork removal time for side walls shall be guaranteed to be no less than 5 days. For structures (parts) exposed to direct sunlight and prone to water loss, wet straw curtains or geotextiles shall be hung, and wet curing shall be maintained before formwork removal. No external force of any form shall be applied to the side walls. The waterproof layer shall be made in time and backfilling shall be completed as soon as possible.

Packaging and Storage

· Packaging: BC-AME(III) is available in paper-plastic composite bags or bulk tankers for convenient loading, unloading and transportation. The net weight is 40kg per bag, and custom packaging is also available according to customer requirements.

· Storage: BC-AME(III) shall be stored in a sealed, dry and cool place, with a shelf life of 6 months under sealed conditions.

Safety Precautions

· BC-AME(III) is non-toxic, non-irritating, non-radioactive, non-flammable and non-explosive. It contains no formaldehyde and is environmentally friendly.

· For your personal safety, always wear protective gloves and safety goggles during handling and use of BC-AME(III) to avoid direct skin contact. In case of accidental eye or skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. Seek medical attention promptly if irritation persists.
